Description: FZD8 is one of atleast ten seventransmembrane (7TM) glycoprotein of the Frizzled family of Wntreceptors. Frizzled proteins are thought to be G-protein-coupled. Wnt engagement,with low density lipoprotein receptor related proteins LRP-5 or LRP-6 actingas co-receptors stabilizes β-catenin and promotes gene transcription that isimportant in development and tissue maintenance.
