Rabbit Anti-Mouse Cystatin C Monoclonal Antibody

Cat.No.: CAB11520RM
Product Overview: Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody to Mouse Cystatin C
Antigen Description: Mouse Cystatin-C, also known as Cystatin-3, Neuroendocrine basic polypeptide, Post-gamma-globulin, and CST3, is a secreted type 2 cysteine proteinase inhibitors of the cystatin superfamily, and exerts actions on a variety of cysteine proteases including papain and Cathepsins B, H, K, L and S. As the most abundant extracellular inhibitor of cysteine proteases, Cystatin-C encoded by a housekeeping gene is found ubiquitously in all organs and biological fluids at high concentration levels. It has been shown that Cystatin-C binds amyloid-beta and reduces cerebral amyloid-beta deposition or inhibits its fibril formation in an APP-transgenic mouse model. Thus, a point mutation in this gene (Leu 68 to Gln) hsa been associated with a severe hereditary form of amyloid angiopathy. Studies have also investigated Cystatin-C as a marker of kidney function and thyroid dysfunction prior to creatinine, and could be a useful clinical tool to identify HIV-infected persons. In addition, Cystatin-C expression is up-regulated in malignance of certain tumor progression.
Specificity: Mouse Cystatin C / CST3. No cross-reactivity in ELISA with Human CST3; Human HPRG; Human KNG1; Human cell lysate (293 cell line);
Immunogen: Recombinant Mouse Cystatin C / CST3 Protein
Host: Rabbit

Species: Mouse
Clone: A042
Applications: WB; ELISA
Dilution: Western blot: This antibody can be used at 1-2 μg/mL with the appropriate secondary reagents to detect Mouse CST3 in WB.Using a DAB detection system, the detection limit for Mouse CST3 is approximately 0.5 ng/lane under non-reducing conditions and 0.25 ng/lane under reducing conditions.ELISA: This antibody can be used at 0.1-0.2 μg/mL with the appropriate secondary reagents to detect Mouse CST3. The detection limit for Mouse CST3 is approximately 0.00245 ng/well.
Preparation: This antibody was obtained from a rabbit immunized with purified, human cell-derived, recombinant Mouse Cystatin C / CST3
Format: 0.2 μm filtered solution in PBS with 5% trehalose
Storage: This antibody can be stored at 2-8 °C for one month without detectable loss of activity. Antibody products are stable for twelve months from date of receipt when stored at -20 to -70°C. Preservative-Free.Sodium azide is recommended to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%-0.1%). It is toxic to cells and should be disposed of properly. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
