Cat. No. : THBS2-101H
Description : The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the thrombospondin family. It is a disulfide-linked homotrimeric glycoprotein that mediates cell-to-cell and cell-to-matrix interactions. This protein has been shown to function as a potent inhibitor of tumor growth and angiogenesis. Studies of the mouse counterpart suggest that this protein may modulate the cell surface properties of mesenchymal cells and be involved in cell adhesion and migration.
Source : Mammalian cells
Molecular Mass : Predicted molecular mass is 129 kDa. The apparent molecular mass of the protein is approximately 170176 kDa in SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions.
Predicted N terminal : Gly19
Formulation : Lyophilized from a 0.2 μm filtered solution in Sodium Citrate and NaCl.
Purity : >90% as determined by SDSPAGE
Activity : Measured by the ability of the immobilized Protein to support the adhesion of SVEC4-10 mouse vascular endothelial cells. rhThrombospondin2 is coated to 96 well plates at 10 µg/mL (100 µL/well) overnight then reduced with 20 mM DTT for 30 minutes. When 2 x 104 cells/well are added to rhThrombospondin2 coated plates, approximately 55-75% will adhere after one hour at 37° C.
EndotoxinLevel : <1.0 EU per 1 μg of the protein by the LAL method.
Storage : 12 months from date of receipt, 20 to 70 °C as supplied. Avoid repeated freezethaw cycles.
OfficialSymbol : THBS2
Gene Name : THBS2 thrombospondin 2 [ Homo sapiens ]
Synonyms : THBS2; thrombospondin 2; thrombospondin-2; TSP2
Gene ID : 7058
