Protein Phosphatase 1K Mitochondrial (PPM1K) is a member of the PP2C family. PPM1K localizes to the cell mitochondrion matrix and contains one PP2C-like domain. PPM1K has metal ion binding and protein serine/threonine phosphatase activity. One subunit of PPM1K can bind one magnesium or manganese ion. PPM1K regulates the mitochondrial permeability transition pore and it is essential for cellular survival and development. |
