||S100A6 is a member of the S100 family of proteins containing 2 EF-hand calcium-binding motifs. S100 proteins are localized in the cytoplasm and/or nucleus of a wide range of cells, and involved in the regulation of a number of cellular processes such as cell cycle progression and differentiation. S100 genes include at least 13 members which are located as a cluster on chromosome 1q21. This protein may function in stimulation of Ca2+-dependent insulin release, stimulation of prolactin secretion, and exocytosis. Chromosomal rearrangements and altered expression of this gene have been implicated in melanoma.

||Lyophilized 100 μg human mature S100A6 in 50 μl of TBS ( 20 mM Tris, 50mM NaCl,pH8.0 ). Carry free.
||Add 500 μl deionized water or TBS to the vial to prepare a working stock solution at 200 μg/mL . Allow to set at least 30 minutes at 4° C, mix well.
||Store lyophilized protein at -20 °C or -70 °C. Lyophilized protein is stable for up to 6 months from date of receipt at - 20 °C to -70 °C. Upon reconstitution, this protein can be stored at -20 °C for a few weeks or at -70 °C in a manual defrost freezer for long term storage (six months). Aliquot reconstituted protein to avoid repeated freezing / thawing cycles.
