Description : This gene belongs to the TBR1 (T-box brain protein 1) sub-family of T-box genes that share the common DNA-binding T-box domain. The encoded protein is a transcription factor which is crucial for embryonic development of mesoderm and the central nervous system in vertebrates. The protein may also be necessary for the differentiation of effector CD8+ T cells which are involved in defense against viral infections. A similar gene disrupted in mice is shown to be essential during trophoblast development and gastrulation. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.

EOMES can affect the production, progression and prognosis of lung cancer by regulating CTLs function and immune surveillance cell types and functions.

What is the role of EOMES in T lymphocyte differentiation and function? 10/17/2019

EOMES plays a key role in the differentiation and function of CD8+ T cells, particularly in the formation and stability maintenance of effector memory T cells and cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs).

How can immune-related diseases be studied by EOMES gene? 08/18/2019

The molecular mechanisms of EOMES genes can be studied by analyzing the association between the EOMES gene and immune-related diseases such as autoimmune diseases, infectious diseases, etc.

Is there a link between EOMES and certain lymphomas? 06/04/2019

Yes, EOMES is strongly associated with the occurrence and progression of a variety of lymphoid tumors (such as Hodgkin lymphoma, T-cell lymphoma, etc.).

How to study the role of EOMES in the immune system? 05/23/2019

Mouse gene knockout technology, small RNA interference technology, etc. can be used to study the role of EOMES in the immune system.

How about the role of EOMES in tumor immunotherapy? 03/06/2019

EOMES can enhance the reactivity of T lymphocytes in tumor immunotherapy, thereby enhancing the killing ability and therapeutic effect of tumor cells.
