Description : |
Fibroblast Growth Factor 7 (FGF7), also known as Keratinocyte Growth Factor (KGF), is a paracrine-acting, epithelial mitogen produced by cells of mesenchymal origin. It is a member of the fibroblast growth factor (FGF) family, and acts exclusively through a subset of FGF receptor isoforms (FGFR2b) expressed predominantly by epithelial cells. FGF7 is a potent epithelial cell-specific growth factor, whose mitogenic activity is predominantly exhibited in keratinocytes but not in fibroblasts and endothelial cells. Clinical trials in patients with solid tumors are performed to assess the potential benefits of using KGF to protect normal tissue from the adverse effects of chemoradiotherapy and its possible impact on clinical outcome.Researcher also found that recombinant human keratinocyte growth factor palifermin reduces oral mucositis and improves patient outcomes after stem cell transplant. |
Predicted N Terminal : |
Cys32 |
Form : |
Lyophilized from 0.22 μm filtered solution in PBS, pH 7.4. Normally Mannitol or Trehalose are added as protectants before lyophilization. |
Bio-activity : |
The bio-activity was determined by dose-dependent stimulation of the proliferation of BaF3 cells. The ED50<10ng l,="" corresponding="" to="" a="" specific="" activity="" of="">1X10^5 Unit/mg.10ng> |
Molecular Mass : |
rhFGF7 contains no "Tags" and has a calculated MW of 18.9 kDa. DTT-reduced protein migrates as 26 kDa protein due to different glycosylation. |
Endotoxin : |
Less than 1.0 EU per μg of the or rhFGF7 by the LAL method. |
Purity : |
>95% purity as determined by SDS-PAGE of reduced rhFGF-7. |
Storage : |
Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. No activity loss was observed after storage at: In lyophilized state for 1 year (4 centigrade-8 centigrade); After reconstitution under sterile conditions for 1 month (4 centigrade-8 centigrade) or 3 months (-20 centigrade to -70 centigrade). |
