Description: Vascular cell adhesion molecule 1, also known as VCAM1 is an immunoglobulin-like adhesion molecule expressed on activated endothelial cells. This type I membrane protein mediates leukocyte-endothelial cell adhesion and signal transduction, and may play a role in the development of artherosclerosis and rheumatoid arthritis. VCAM-1 promotes the adhesion of lymphocytes, monocytes, eosinophils, and basophils.

Molecular Weight: The predicted molecular weight of Recombinant Mouse VCAM-1 is Mr 101.9 kDa. However, the actual molecular weight as observed by migration on SDS Page is Mr 120 kDa.
