| Description : |
IL-18-binding protein (IL-18BP) is a secreted glycoprotein that functions as a natural anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive molecule neutralizing the effects of high IL18 levels during inflammation. There are four variants of IL-18BP and IL18BPa is the predominant form showing the highest affinity towards IL18. that IL-18 BPa:Fc has the potential to amplify anti-inflammatory actions of immunosuppressive drugs, and thus may prove to be a valuable novel pharmacological component in the treatment of human autoimmune diseases. |
| Molecular Weight : |
The predicted molecular weight of Recombinant Human IL-18 BPa is Mr 44.2 kDa. However, the actual molecular weight as observed by migration on SDS Page is Mr 65-75 kDa. |
