Cat. No. : | ROCK2-421H |
Description : | ROCK2 is a ubiquitously expressed serine/threonine kinase localized in the nucleus that regulates cytokinesis, smooth muscle contraction, the formation of actin stress fibers and focal adhesions, and the activation of the c-fos serum response element. ROCK2 is an immediate downstream target of the small GTPase RhoA. ROCK2 may play a pivotal role in cardiovascular diseases such as vasospastic angina, ischemic stroke, and heart failure. Inhibition of ROCKs by statins or other selective inhibitors leads to the upregulation and activation of endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) and reduction of vascular inflammation and atherosclerosis. |

Q&As (5)
Ask a questionROCK2 is a key regulator of smooth muscle contraction, influencing vascular tone by phosphorylating myosin light chain and promoting actin-myosin interaction.
ROCK2 interacts with various signaling pathways, including Wnt, PI3K/Akt, and MAPK pathways, forming a network that regulates cell survival, proliferation, and differentiation.
ROCK2 can influence the cell cycle by regulating cyclin-dependent kinase activity and promoting the phosphorylation of proteins involved in cell cycle checkpoints.
ROCK2 is involved in the regulation of cell migration and invasion by controlling actin dynamics and focal adhesion turnover, influencing processes like metastasis in cancer.
ROCK2 phosphorylates various downstream targets, such as myosin light chain, leading to actin-myosin contraction and the reorganization of the actin cytoskeleton.
