Membrane-anchored forms of mesothelin may play a role in cellular adhesion. Megakaryocyte-potentiating factor (MPF) potentiates megakaryocyte colony formation. Mesothelin interacts with MUC16. The protein is expressed in lung and at low levels in the heart, placenta, kidney, and mesothelial cells. Mestothelin is highly expressed in mesotheliomas, ovarian cancers, and some squamous cell carcinomas (at protein level). Both MPF and the cleaved form of mesothelin are N-glycosylated. It is proteolytically cleaved by a furin-like convertase to generate megakaryocyte- potentiating factor (MPF), and the cleaved form of mesothelin.

MSLN has several biochemical functions, for example, protein binding. Some of the functions are cooperated with other proteins, some of the functions could acted by MSLN itself. We selected most functions MSLN had, and list some proteins which have the same functions with MSLN. You can find most of the proteins on our site.
MSLN has direct interactions with proteins and molecules. Those interactions were detected by several methods such as yeast two hybrid, co-IP, pull-down and so on. We selected proteins and molecules interacted with MSLN here. Most of them are supplied by our site. Hope this information will be useful for your research of MSLN.
