Cat. No. : FGF23-416H
Description : FGF-23 is a member of the fibroblast growth factor (FGF) family. FGF-23 inhibits renal tubular phosphate transport. This gene was identified by its mutations associated with autosomal dominant hypophosphatemic rickets (ADHR), an inherited phosphate wasting disorder. Abnormally high level expression of FGF23 was found in oncogenic hypophosphatemic osteomalacia (OHO), a phenotypically similar disease caused by abnormal phosphate metabolism. Mutations FGF23 have also been shown to cause familial tumoral calcinosis with hyperphosphatemia.
Source/Host : HEK 293 cells.
Purity : ≥90% (SDS-PAGE).
Formulation : Liquid. 0.2μm-filtered solution in PBS.

Ask a question
What role does FGF23 play in chronic kidney disease? 06/12/2022

FGF23 levels are elevated in chronic kidney disease, contributing to mineral imbalance.

How is FGF23 implicated in cardiovascular health? 04/04/2022

High FGF23 levels are associated with increased cardiovascular risk.

How does FGF23 regulate phosphate and calcium homeostasis? 03/24/2022

It decreases renal phosphate reabsorption and 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D production.

Are there known genetic mutations that affect FGF23 production or activity? 01/27/2022

Mutations in FGF23 or related proteins can lead to dysregulated phosphate metabolism.

What therapeutic strategies are being explored to modulate FGF23 levels? 05/16/2020

Strategies include phosphate binders and FGF23 antibodies to manage elevated FGF23 levels.

In which tissues is FGF23 predominantly produced and secreted? 04/28/2020

FGF23 is primarily produced in bone.

What is the primary function of FGF23 in the body? 10/29/2019
