Recombinant Human TGFB1 Protein

Cat.No.: TGFB1-057H
Product Overview: Recombinant human TGFB1 (rhTGFB1) Ala279-Ser390 (Accession # NP_000651.3) was produced in human HEK293 cells.
Description: This gene encodes a secreted ligand of the TGF-beta (transforming growth factor-beta) superfamily of proteins. Ligands of this family bind various TGF-beta receptors leading to recruitment and activation of SMAD family transcription factors that regulate gene expression. The encoded preproprotein is proteolytically processed to generate a latency-associated peptide (LAP) and a mature peptide, and is found in either a latent form composed of a mature peptide homodimer, a LAP homodimer, and a latent TGF-beta binding protein, or in an active form consisting solely of the mature peptide homodimer. The mature peptide may also form heterodimers with other TGFB family members. This encoded protein regulates cell proliferation, differentiation and growth, and can modulate expression and activation of other growth factors including interferon gamma and tumor necrosis factor alpha. This gene is frequently upregulated in tumor cells, and mutations in this gene result in Camurati-Engelmann disease. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2016]
Source: HEK293 cells
Species: Human
Molecular Mass: rhTGFB1 contains no "tag" and has a calculated MW of 12.8 kDa. DTT-reduced protein migrates as 13 kDa polypeptide in SDS-PAGE.
Endotoxin: Less than 1.0 EU per 1 µg of the rhTGFB1 by the LAL method.
Purity: >95% as determined by SDS-PAGE. All lots are greater than 95% pure.
Notes: Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
Storage: No activity loss was observed after storage at 4-8 centigrade for 1 month or -20 centigrade for 1 year in lyophilized state. rhTGFB1 should be aliquoted and stored at -8 centigrade centigrade in liquid formulation, for long term storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Storage Buffer: Supplied as a 0.22 µm filtered solution in 50 mM glycine, 50mM NaCl, pH4.0 and delivered as liquid formulation or lyophilized powder. Normally mannitol or trehalose are added as protectants before lyophilization. Reconstitution instruction or specific concentrations are included in the hardcopy of CoA along with the products.
