Description : | The protein encoded by this gene is a cytokine that shares the sequence similarity with IL17. This cytokine can induce NF-kappaB activation, and stimulate the production of IL8. Both this cytokine and IL17B are ligands for the cytokine receptor IL17BR. Studies of the similar gene in mice suggested that this cytokine may be a proinflammatory cytokine favoring Th2-type immune response. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants of this gene encoding distinct isoforms have been reported. [provided by RefSeq |

Q&As (6)
Ask a questionThere is a lack of conclusive evidence that IL-25 has a clear effect in tumor treatment, but there are some studies underway.
There are no clear studies on the side effects of IL-25, but the patient response needs to be closely monitored during research and clinical application.
In addition to treating asthma and inflammatory bowel disease, IL-25 may also have potential applications in the treatment of lung infections, urticaria and other diseases.
IL-25 activates specific signaling pathways by binding to specific receptors, thereby regulating the activity of immune cells and the degree of inflammation in the body.
Some studies have shown that recombinant IL-25 can improve symptoms of diseases such as asthma and inflammatory bowel disease, but more research is needed to verify its efficacy.
Yes, in general, IL-25 therapy needs to be administered by injection to ensure that the protein can enter the body and work.
