Official Full Name | interleukin 12A (natural killer cell stimulatory factor 1, cytotoxic lymphocyte maturation factor 1, p35) |
Background | Interleukin 12 (IL12) is an important cytokine produced by a variety of immune effector cells that leads to a type 1 helper T cell (Th1) response. IL12 also directs T cells to the skin via induction of cutaneous lymphocyte antigen (CLA) expression. Interleukin 12 is a heterodimeric cytokine (p70), composed of two covalently linked subunits, p35 and p40. |
